As a full-service photographer who has photographed families in Sea Island for over a decade, I’ve witnessed no shortage of family vacations. But the ones that stand out the most are those rare get-togethers of extended family – grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins – all converging on our little coastal paradise. Those – they are my favorites to photograph.
These days, with families often spread across countries and continents, it’s a challenge to coordinate schedules and make time for a whole family get-together. But when it happens, you realize just how much you’ve missed each other and how important it is to savor these moments.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing many multigenerational Sea Island family vacations. The images of happy kids running around the beach with their grandparents, full of laughter and connection, and the intimate portraits with three generations piled on a swinging bench or walking down the beautiful Sea Island Beaches. These are the photos that will be treasured for decades to come.
